Roots for Our Mission

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our capital campaign. Back to the campaign page →

Why are we doing this campaign?

We believe God is calling our church to plant permanent roots in Homewood. Our hope is that this church building will be a kingdom tool that God uses for the gospel to be made known in our church, our community, and our world.

What is the goal of this capital campaign?

The ultimate hope is for God to grow our congregation in discipleship to Jesus in stewardship and generosity with our money and resources. This campaign is primarily about discipleship to Jesus.

In connection to this, the goal is for 100% participation from every member of our church. From the largest contribution to the smallest, we want every person to trust God with their resources as they give sacrificially.

How much are we trying to raise?

$12–13 million, pledged over the 3-year period of October 2026 through October 2029. With current building cost estimates of $18–19 million, we plan to also use excess operating funds of $1–2 million and debt of $4–5 million.

When are pledges due?

Pledges are due on Sunday, September 27th.

When will we break ground?

Lord willing and the finances are raised, we will break ground in mid-late October/early November.

What size will this church building be?

The current building plans include a 30,000 square foot building with a worship space where upwards of 650 people can gather. The current plans also include adequate space for staff offices, as well as an education wing for child, youth, and adult discipleship.
